Welcome to Natural Wonder Fellowship
Spirituality without Dogma

Good Day to you! We hope you enjoy your visit. You may wander the site and enjoy at your leisure, once you’ve registered (lower right corner on standard monitor). This ‘Welcome’ page is usually the only content available to non-members (occasionally, a double-starred (**) post will also be available). Natural Wonder Fellowship is dedicated to promoting Free Thought, from freedom of and freedom from religion, to sharing ideas and information on other matters affecting us all. While some Fellowship members may provide traditional and non-traditional spiritual services, the Fellowship is developed and designed to be a place to compare notes, share ideas, and further the common dialogue among people from various backgrounds and points of view, on a range of topics. We expect Religion and Politics will be high on the topic list. Our belief is that through honest, respectful, open communication and sharing information, we may develop broader understanding; leading to deeper knowledge within each of us. From such knowledge, may we grow in wisdom. We want to provide thought provoking ideas, and a platform for participation should you choose to join. The original public blogspot “baby blog” was great for quickly getting content out, but had no real interactive features beyond comments from readers. I’d like this site to provide a larger voice to members so we can hear their concerns and opinions, not just their comments on someone else’s ideas. I still occasionally pop something new on the baby blog, but this is the Fellowship’s main site. We are deliberately not optimized for advertising bots. You’ll probably not find us on the search engine or crawler sites (hopefully anyway).
Know that your e-mail address will not be shared with outside accounts, nor will we send annoying emails, also known as spam. There is (or will be) an inactivity time-out on this site. If you’re timed-out, simply log back in again. This site is still under development — some features are still in progress, and as of this writing (8 Jan 2019), numerous test posts, thoughts, comments, possibly other development testing and internal musings and developer and tester comment messages may still be available. You may or may not be amused by some of the “stuff” that goes on during site evolution and development.
There are no ads on this site. There are no ads planned to be on this site. There is no “click-bait”. This site is created and maintained by a member of clergy, but don’t let that frighten you away! My name is Gail Dobson, and I was as surprised as everyone else who knows me when I decided to become ordained with the Universal Life Church (Minister) and the Church of Spiritual Humanism (Priestess). These two ‘churches’ have no requirements, no dogma — “do what is right” is pretty much the only requirement. You can read more about me if you wish.
Once you’ve set up an account (again, sign-up is at lower right on a standard monitor) and become a member of our Fellowship, initially as a ‘Subscriber’, you will have read access to the ‘Posts’ and ‘User Thoughts’ of the site. You will have comment, and content rating rights, as well. Your first comment will be ‘held for moderation’ but once accepted for ‘publish’, your future comments will be automatically ‘published’ without moderation. As a ‘subscriber’, you can also ‘edit’ (but not delete) your published comments, and set a few ‘profile’ preferences.
Once you’ve been a subscriber for [some time, but it can’t just be calendar time] a bit, you may wish to become a ‘Contributor’. A ‘Contributor’ may create and submit ‘User Thoughts’ content. Once accepted for ‘publish’, your ‘Thought’ will be available for viewing and comments by members. Do not ‘submit for moderation’ until you have completed your entry. Use ‘preview’ to see how your published contribution will appear. Close the ‘preview window to continue editing. Save often during creation so you may pick up where you left off, until ‘published”. There is no edit ability on ‘Thought’ entries once “published” at ‘Contributor’ level.
Once you become an ‘Author’ level member, you will have the ability to create a ‘User Thought’ and once perfected as you intend, publish it without moderation. You will also have ‘edit’ ability of your published ‘Thoughts’. The ‘Author’ level is the highest user level planned right now.

Keep an open mind as you wander around (no, not so open that anything important falls out… or maybe it was good to get rid of that concept, hmm). We’d like to inspire you to think, possibly in a new way; possibly of something you had not previously considered. We’d like to hear (well, read) your opinions in comments on published items and your own Thoughts to share with everyone. We hope to build a community where no one feels intimidated, and no one feels left out. We will not tolerate bullying or disrespect shown to other members. Please be respectful in your submissions. We may not agree with each other on everything, but we can all agree that everyone appreciates being treated as you yourself want to be treated.
“When the government puts its imprimatur on a particular religion it conveys a message of exclusion to all those who do not adhere to the favored beliefs. A government cannot be premised on the belief that all persons are created equal when it asserts that God prefers some.”
— Harry A. Blackmun (1992 Supreme Court, Lee vs. Weisman)
“I believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute – where no Catholic prelate would tell the President (should he be Catholic) how to act, and no Protestant minister would tell his parishioners for whom to vote – where no church or church school is granted any public funds or political preference – and where no man is denied public office merely because his religion differs from the President who might appoint him or the people who might elect him.
I believe in an America that is officially neither Catholic, Protestant nor Jewish – where no public official either requests or accepts instructions on public policy from the Pope, the National Council of Churches or any other ecclesiastical source – where no religious body seeks to impose its will directly or indirectly upon the general populace or the public acts of its officials – and where religious liberty is so indivisible that an act against one church is treated as an act against all.“
— John F. Kennedy [Remarks to Greater Houston Ministerial Association, Sept 12 1960]
