About Me (Gail Dobson)

I hope we can share views and learn from each other.

Hi there! I’m a concerned citizen of the United States. I’m a free-thinker (meaning I check and ponder pretty much everything, I take practically nothing “on faith”, and I ask a lot of questions). I am a strong believer in the secularist nature of our republic. I strongly believe in equal rights for all. I strongly believe in our Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

I am not running for any office, nor do I have obligations to any religious, political, or corporate over-seer. Politically, I am a registered Independent. I am an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church and an ordained Priestess with the Church of Spiritual Humanism. I have been a Notary Public of the State of Maryland since the early-mid 1970s. I am a long time supporting  member of the ACLU, WWF, NWF, and recently discovered and joined Freedom From Religion Foundation. I have a grown daughter from my first marriage. I have been married for 25 years to my third husband. My business background is a touch of medicine, some of law, and a fair amount of desktop business software analysis, design & development. I founded my software development corporation in 1991 with my business partner (who I later married).

I am deeply troubled by the growing divide among Americans. We must come together over things that really matter (the environment, world affairs, economic stability here and abroad, equal rights for all). I believe “religion” in its many guises is one of several root causes of many local and world conflicts. I believe the subjugation of women is another (often supported by religious dogma).

I enjoy reading, art, music, gardening, mother nature in all her glory, and learning new things. I dislike dogma, attempted or actual totalitarianism, hypocrisy, misogyny, discrimination, and peanut butter.

I hope we can learn from and share views with each other. You can enter comments once you join our Fellowship.
